Receiving the promises of God can be as easy as 'knowing it is available' but most often it requires some preparation on our part. It all depends on the condition of our hearts...
“Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies having been washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering (for He is faithful who promised)” – Hebrews 10:22-23
No matter what the condition of our hearts, I believe it is always good to prepare ourselves…
“But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.” – Jude 1:20-21
So with this in mind here are a few steps you can take to help prepare you for a supernatural birth, conception and pregnancy…
1. STAND ON THE WORD
“For the Word of God is living and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing apart of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” – Hebrews 4:12
The Word is alive and powerful. When we prepare to walk in the supernatural, above ALL, it would benefit us to stand on God’s Word. An easy way to start is by choosing to continually think upon God’s promises for life…
“My son, listen to my words; bow down your ear to my sayings. Let them not depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart. For they are life to those who find them, and health to all his flesh. Keep your heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” – Proverbs 4:20-23
“For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.” – 2 Corinthians 1:20
Trust God’s Word. Your circumstances (or the devil) might make it seem that the things of God are not real, but do not fear, only believe (Luke 8:49-50)…
2. ONLY BELIEVE
“And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.” – Mark 11:22-23
Jesus also told us to have courage because He has overcome this world…
“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9 (NKJV)
Do not be afraid. Have faith in God. Trust Him above what you ‘know’, see or feel. Believe in Him and His promises for life. He is faithful.
3. REJOICE IN THE TRUTH
“Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Once you have chosen to believe the Word of God and are standing on His promises – rejoice over them! It is exciting! Be excited! Be expectant! Expect to see God’s hand and His provision…
4. EXPECT THE SUPERNATURAL
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report.” – Hebrews 11:1-2,
hope = to expect
Once you have chosen to believe what God says over what the world or your circumstances proclaims – expect to see it manifested in your life. Have hope. Expect good. Expect to see God’s promises in your life.
“I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.” – John 10:9-11
Jesus did this for you. He gave everything (His life) so that you can experience life here on this earth.
5. BE ENCOURAGED BY OTHER’S TESTIMONIES
Another way to prepare is by encouraging your heart through other’s testimonies. Revelation 12:11 says…
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony;”
They overcame the enemy by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony.
We have some testimonies here on our site and there are more to come. Visit our Testimonies page.
We are called to be His disciples. Experiencing the supernatural things of God is about a relationship. It is about knowing our Lord…
“Then Jesus said to the Jews who believed on Him, ‘If you continue in My Word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free’.” – John 8:31-32
